How do we know what day of the week it is? Most of us wake up and gradually come to the conclusion that because yesterday was Monday, today must be Tuesday. For Nuala Watt however, yesterday was blue with the consistency of a deep swimming pool, and the day before that was yellow, so today must be brown. Watt is a partially sighted artist with synaesthesia, allowing her to ‘taste voices', see music and scrape herself against Thursday. Together with her mother Liz Munro, who works with photography and printmaking, their work evoke powerful imaginary landscapes and a dialogue about abstract ideas where each woman’s inner vision of the world is filtered through different sensory perspectives.
